Llama Fiber
BEAUTIFUL, SOFT, WARM, VERSATILE
Llama fiber is special because it is hypoallergenic, nearly odorless, and has no lanolin. Llama fiber is soft and luxurious: not “scratchy.” It is used in clothing and accessories such as scarves, shawls, ponchos, hats, socks, gloves, and more. Llama fibers are hollow, so they make good insulation in clothing and cold-weather gear. Llama fiber is strong; the llama fiber co-op makes beautiful and long-lasting rugs.
If you are a knitter or felter, you might like to purchase raw fiber for spinning or rovings for felting.
At the Poverty Hollow Llama Open Barn this October, there will be various examples of items made from llama fiber, as well as llama fiber available for felting or spinning.
